March 1, 2023 – Spread the word: The Wisconsin Law Foundation seeks grant applications for charitable or educational programs in Wisconsin that promote greater public understanding of the law and the improvement of the administration of justice, or are an educational program or project that directly affects Wisconsin residents.

Thanks to donations from State Bar members, the Foundation annually provides high-impact Truman Q. McNulty grants of $1,000 to $2,500 each to projects that directly affect Wisconsin residents.

Take, for example, ABC for Health’s “Say It Forward” program. A Foundation McNulty grant helps the program which provides community legal education to help families avoid surprise medical bills, medical debt, and aggressive collections actions.

In 2022, the Foundation awarded $21,600 in grants to nine organizations – including ABC for Health – that help youth in teen courts, self-represented family law litigants, families burdened by medical debt, and new immigrants to Wisconsin, and which promote public understanding of the law and legal history.

Find out more about past recipients on the Foundation’s webpage and in the Aug. 17, 2022, issue of InsideTrack.

More details about the grants are available on the McNulty Grant Guidelines and Instructions webpage.

    Apply by April 7, 2023

To apply, visit the Foundation’s grants webpage for application instructions, or contact Beth Drake at WLF-Fellows@wisbar.org, (608) 250-6171, or (800) 444-9404, ext. 6171.

Grant applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023. Applicants will be notified of the Foundation’s grant award decisions by Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
