    Reserve Your Spot: Young Lawyers Conference Is March 31

    New lawyers, you're invited: Meet in Oshkosh on March 31 for free CLE sessions and networking. Reserve your spot today.

    March 1, 2023 – Have you pondered whether lawyers can use technology and artificial intelligence programs like ChatGPT to enhance your practice while staying compliant with ethical rules?

    At the 13th Annual Young Lawyers Conference, you can learn the best practices for engaging clients, accepting payments, and avoiding common ethical dilemmas in the legal field – and more.

    “The goal is to provide a learning experience for young or new attorneys,” said Jose Castro, president of the Young Lawyers Division. “The second part is networking. It’s a great opportunity to meet attorneys from a different part of the state.”

    Castro said that connections made at the Young Lawyers Conference can be valuable.

    “You never know when something will come up that it is out of your wheelhouse and it’s helpful to know attorneys in other types of practices and other parts of the state,” Castro said.

    Reserve your spot today for the conference, March 31 in Oshkosh at the Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center.

    This year’s theme is “Law in Practice – How to Build Your Practice as a Young Lawyer.” Session topics cover tips and ideas to boost your legal career:

    • ethics and professional identity;

    • mediation tips and tricks;

    • starting a practice and building business; and

    • practical tips for navigating the profession as a new attorney.

    Plus you’ll have time to chat with your colleagues at a reception that follows the program.

    WisLAP Office Hours Available On-site

    The Wisconsin Lawyers Assistance Program (WisLAP) staff are hosting on-site office hours at the conference for 30 to 45-minute consultations. The consultations are free and confidential.
