Dec. 7, 2022 – State Bar of Wisconsin members have the option to pay their Wisconsin Supreme Court assessments and State Bar dues for next fiscal year over a six-month period.
“Paying in installments allows members – particularly those working in small-firm or government settings – a means to better manage their finances, spreading payments over a six-month period,” said State Bar Past President Kathy Brost.
Fiscal year 2024 covers July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. Statements are typically sent out in early May, with final payments due by July 1.
The prepayment plan allows you to pay FY 2024 dues and assessments over six months, beginning in January 2023. In June, a final payment is made through the State Bar’s Online Assessment and Dues Payment Portal. During that final payment, you will update your record, sign and submit your Trust Account Certificate, join your practice sections, elect to make a Wisconsin Law Foundation donation, and request the Keller dues reduction.
There are no administrative fees to participate in the plan.
If you have any questions, please review the prepayment plan FAQs for full details.
To enroll in the plan, you must sign up by Jan. 9, 2023.
The Prepayment Plan: What You Need to Know
Active, Active New, Senior Active, Inactive, and Judicial State Bar members can participate.
Enroll in the plan by completing the payment agreement and payment authorization form by Jan. 9, 2023.
The first installment payment occurs in January.
Payments are made in five equal installments (January through May).
Participants will make the sixth final payment through the State Bar’s online payment portal. This allows them to update their records, sign and submit their trust account certificate online, join optional sections and divisions, and, if desired, apply the Keller dues reduction and donate to the Wisconsin Law Foundation.
Law firms participating in firm billing will continue to pay their assessments and dues through that process.
