April 3, 2019 – Learn how to start a practice from the ground up at “Considerations for Starting a Law Practice,” a special CLE event hosted by the State Bar of Wisconsin Solo/Small Firm & General Practice Section, in Madison on May 4, 2019.

The seminar is perfect for young lawyers, law students, and any attorney who is considering “going solo,” or solo attorneys wanting greater insight into managing their solo practice.

The sessions will help you through the process of planning and starting your own practice – covering what you really need to know to be a successful solo practitioner.

Learn from established practitioners, who will share their experience and knowledge on:

• what is needed to start off right in operations and marketing;

• choosing the correct business entity option for you;

• tech options and client contact: the virtual office options and implementation;

• how to manage trust accounts under the new supreme court rules;

• easy and smart technology for solo and small firms; and

• the need for malpractice insurance and how to avoid needing to use it.

The day closes with a moderated Q & A wrap-up session involving all presenters.

About the Program

The seminar runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, and includes a box lunch. It is held at the State Bar Center in Madison.

The seminar will be submitted to the Wisconsin Board of Bar Examiners for up to 6 CLE credits, including 1 EPR credit.

The seminar is priced reasonably so that all can afford to attend:

• $30 for Law school students
