Nov.4, 2009 – The State Bar of Wisconsin and its Young Lawyers Division are using new social networking tools to connect members on a more personal level, update members and the public on programs and services, and recognize legal professionals who are making a difference in their communities.
Please take a moment to become a fan of the State Bar of Wisconsin Facebook page and follow the bar on Twitter too.
The State Bar Young Lawyers Division (YLD) has a Facebook group. “Membership in the YLD is automatic for attorneys who are either under 36 years old or in their first five years of practice following admission to the State Bar, but anyone is welcome to join the YLD Facebookgroup,” says YLD president Nick Vivian. “We hope to be a source of networking opportunities and look forward to great discussions.”
Members also can follow and support the State Bar’s pro bono program on Facebook. “Facebook provides opportunities for learning and sharing information with others who have an interest in using web 2.0 tools to advance the cause of equal justice for all,” says State Bar Pro Bono coordinator Jeff Brown. “Let us know what you would like to see on the page and upload your photos or videos of local pro bono events.”
