CLE Books updates traffic, employment, and juvenile codebooks, don't go to court without one

Feb. 18, 2009 – State Bar CLE codebooks contain the critical statutes, regulations, and other materials for specific areas of law, in easily-managed volumes. State Bar CLE Books has recently updated its traffic law, children's code and juvenile justice code, and employment law codebooks.

The Wisconsin Traffic Law Codebook comprises the most important traffic statutes and regulations from the Wisconsin Statutes and the Wisconsin Administrative Code. The book includes key statutes and regulations that cover:

    • Underage and intoxicated persons
    • Juvenile Justice Code
    • Uniform Controlled Substances Act
    • General criminal procedures

The book also offers a large collection of supplementary material covering points, fines, and other helpful resources such as the 2009 bail book.

The > puts the latest statutes at your command when dealing with complex child and juvenile justice issues. The 2009 edition incorporates recent legislative changes affecting statutes pertinent to children, such as:

    • The creation of new criminal offenses for cases in which a person contributes to the neglect of a child, and, as a consequence, the child dies or sustains bodily harm or great bodily harm.

    • The expansion of the type of mental health treatment information that can be released, without informed written consent, to health care providers.

    • Amendments affecting the circumstances under which a person who is the subject of a child abuse restraining order will be deemed to have constructive knowledge of a child abuse injunction, even if the person does not appear at a hearing at which the injunction is ordered.

The new edition also expands the selected statutes contained in the book by including some additional excerpts from the guardianship chapter and from the Criminal Code.

The Wisconsin Employment Law Codebook reflects the law as codified in the 2007-08 Wisconsin Statutes. It has all the relevant statutes concerning employment law including the worker’s and unemployment compensation laws, and the family and medical leave and other fair employment laws.

The 2009 edition includes the following recently added statutes:

    • 893.43: Action on contract
    • 893.93(3)(b): Miscellaneous actions
