The next time you need to cite a court opinion or rule, or locate a
court, an agency, or court personnel, visit Legal Research on WisBar.
This is the second in a series of articles that guides members through
the features on the State Bar's redesigned Web site, which
launched in April.
Run your mouse over the Legal Research tab for quick navigation to
specific content. For a detailed overview of the offerings in this area,
click on the Legal Research tab.
Case law.
WisBar's case law search, which also is accessible from the home
page as a shortcut, has been enhanced to include the ability to pinpoint
searches by keyword, jurisdiction, docket number, or an array of other
combinations. In addition, WisBar now offers improved summaries that
accompany your search result. The Wisconsin case law and administrative
decision archive allows you to perform a simple or advanced search. This
free archive includes 10 years of Wisconsin Supreme Court decisions
(1995 - present) and Wisconsin Court of Appeals decisions (March 1995 -
present), Wisconsin Tax Appeals decisions (1999 - present), and WERC
decisions and awards (1989 - present).
Wisconsin.
Click on Wisconsin for links to supreme court, court of appeals, circuit
court, and municipal court resources. Access various court directories
to find the contact information you need for court personnel.
The navigation index on the left side of the page gives you quick
access to case law, court resources, statutes, acts, administrative code
sections, circuit court rules, and ethics opinions.
Federal. Here you will
find links to federal courts, rules, laws, agencies, and additional
related resources.
Other states.
This feature provides links to courts, governmental agencies, bar
associations, and other research resources for several other states.
Browse
WisBar by topic. Want to know what WisBar offers on a specific
topic? Choose from a listing of more than 50 topics for the most recent
related news, articles, legislation, and State Bar events, books, and
products.
Practice
& research links. Click here for an alphabetical listing of
annotated links to Web sites that provide access to resources,
publications, and organizations related to the legal profession. While
