Diversity Outreach Committee offers annual complimentary diversity program in Milwaukee, updates networking directory

The State Bar's Diversity Outreach Committee, in collaboration with its Diversity Counsel Program, will present its 2004 Annual Diversity in the Legal Profession program and complimentary luncheon at the Milwaukee Athletic Club on June 18, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Keynote speaker James Potter, general counsel and secretary of Del Monte Foods Company, headquartered in San Francisco, will share his perspective on diversity efforts at Del Monte. Potter's topic is "Mentoring Across Differences."

The Diversity Counsel Program's mission is to provide minority and women lawyers an opportunity to demonstrate services to consumers of legal services and to develop relationships with majority-owned law firms.

As an additional benefit, the Diversity Outreach Committee and the Diversity Counsel Demonstration Program are updating the Diversity Counsel Program Directory, which includes listings of minority- and women-owned law firms, minorities and women at majority-owned law firms, and more than 250 corporations. The directory facilitates increased engagements of minority and women attorneys by companies doing business in Wisconsin. All organizations and individuals listed receive a free directory. The deadline for a listing is May 28.

To receive a directory registration form contact the State Bar at (800) 728-7788 or (608) 257-3838 or email.

Space is limited at this complimentary luncheon. For reservations, call the State Bar at the number listed above.
