Enhance your legal career at August Career Development Conference

The State Bar is sponsoring a free Career Development Conference on Aug. 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Milwaukee. Ongoing career development is the cornerstone of personal and professional satisfaction for recent graduates and seasoned professionals. This event is open to all members of the State Bar and the legal community. Space is limited, so register early to secure a seat for this conference.

Registering now, through WisBar, offers attendees the opportunity to help sculpt the conference by selecting from six proposed topics of interest. While there are six topics to choose from, time only permits four topics to be covered during the conference. The most popular choices will become the topics for the presentations. The six topics include making a lateral move; understanding and benefiting from contract/project legal work; marketing yourself to firms, corporations, and government; breaking into government work; use of placement agencies; and career and practice coaching services. In addition, there is an open category to suggest other topics that might be of interest. The selected topics will be presented through open panel discussions, presentations, and various onsite sponsor booths.

Individuals who are interested but unable to attend can still cast their vote for topics by completing the online registration form. Program materials will be sent electronically after Aug. 17 to all who fill out the form and do not attend the conference.
