From AI to Access to Justice: AMC 2026 Brings Key Issues into Focus

The State Bar of Wisconsin's largest gathering of the year returns to La Crosse on June 10-12, 2026, with CLE sessions on today's pressing practice issues, plenaries on major legal and civic themes, and events that celebrate leadership in the profession.

April 15, 2026 – AMC 2026 meets Wisconsin legal professionals where they are now – and looks ahead to where the profession is going.

The State Bar of Wisconsin Annual Meeting & Conference (AMC) is the largest gathering of Wisconsin’s legal professionals this year. AMC 2026, held in La Crosse from June 10-12, 2026, provides the opportunity to attend educational sessions, connect with colleagues, and engage with timely issues that impact the bench, the bar, and the justice system.

Opening Plenary: Wisconsin’s Lawyer Shortage: Lessons from Other States

This session spotlights a national challenge with systemwide conflicts that impact every lawyer, firm, and court. You will explore the consequences of rural lawyer shortages, such as court inefficiencies and the long-term impacts of unchallenged decisions, and how strategies tested in other states may offer practical insights to Wisconsin’s challenges.

Closing Plenary: The Declaration of Independence at 250 Years

The closing plenary session features a distinguished panel of Wisconsin Supreme Court justices, who will lead an exploration of the Declaration’s legal and civic legacy.

Join the justices to examine the role lawyers have played in advancing its principles, and the profession's continuing role in sustaining the American experiment. In marking this anniversary, we reflect not only on where we began as a nation but also on what it means to continue the work of self-government.
