A public hearing will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at 9 a.m., before Referee Kim Peterson at the Rock County Courthouse, Room 532, 51 S. Main St., Janesville, on the petition of John F. Koenig (Koenig) of Milton, to reinstate his Wisconsin law license. Any interested person may appear at the hearing and be heard in support of or in opposition to the petition.
On Feb. 17, 2015, the Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended Koenig’s law license for two years for misconduct that involved his embezzlement of funds from the law firm where he had been employed. Disciplinary Proceedings Against Koenig, 2015 WI 16.
To be reinstated, Koenig has the burden of substantiating by clear, satisfactory, and convincing evidence that he has the moral character to practice law in Wisconsin, his resumption of the practice of law will not be detrimental to the administration of justice or subversive of the public interest, all of his representations in his reinstatement petition are substantiated, and he has complied fully with the terms of the orders of suspension and with SCR 22.26.
