Jan. 2, 2013 – State Bar of Wisconsin members and their office staff can receive up to a $550 discount (read the inset box to find out how to qualify) for the 2013 ABA TECHSHOW®, from April 4-6 in Chicago.

Cloud/Collaboration – Remote access, trends and ethics, how to offload, and the collaboration tech toolbox are the topics in this track.
Solo/Small Firm – Sessions address speech recognition, software, MS Office, document assembly, the frugal firm, an SaaS-based applications comparison (billing, accounting, and practice management services), communication interconnectedness, and assembling your virtual team.
Tablets & Smartphones – Learn about tablet wars, top apps, mobile collaboration, and mobile security.
E-discovery – This track includes a case law update, and addresses predictive coding for practitioners, cloud-based tools for e-discovery, and presents a motions hearing workshop.
MAC – This track is for the MAC curious lawyer and the power users.
Advanced IT – Find out about Windows 8, network penetration testing, geolocation technologies, and texting.
IOS – Learn about the iPhone operating system.
Windows 8 – Attend a Windows 8 show and tell.
Android – Learn which devices deliver the largest bang for the buck and how lawyers are putting them to use in their practices.
Nerino Petro to Make Presentations
State Bar of Wisconsin Law Practice Management Advisor Nerino Petro will discuss using electronic documents as an alternative to printing paper during the “PDF is Paperless,” afternoon presentation on Thursday, April 4. Petro also will discuss using electronic documents as an alternative to printing paper, including adding comments and notes, using editing tools, and creating forms.
During the “Speech Recognition: Hear, There, and Everywhere,” morning presentation on Friday, April 5, Petro will explore the newest versions of speech recognition software including stand-alone applications, custom commands, apps that are built into new operating systems, and speech recognition solutions for mobile devices.

If there are fewer than 10 State Bar of Wisconsin members on the list, Johnson will contact you by Feb. 13 so you can take advantage of $200 early bird discount, which expires Feb. 17, and an additional $155 discount for being a State Bar member.
