Platform Statement

I would be honored to receive your vote to serve on the Judicial Council. As your representative, I would be involved in studying and making recommendations regarding court pleading, practice and procedure as well as organizational issues surrounding the court system. I believe I can bring a fresh and diverse viewpoint to the table.

I have practiced in a variety of legal settings during my professional career. Throughout law school, I interned for a state agency where I worked with administrative law and procedure. As a private practitioner for 23 years, I practice in many areas of the law both as a litigator and transactional attorney. Given the breadth and scope of subject matter addressed by the Council, I believe that my well-rounded experience would equip me for the job. I consider myself a student of the law and place great importance on attention to detail. At the same time, I am very mindful that the law in theory should also work in a practical sense for all concerned. As you can see from my professional activities, I have had the opportunity to serve the State Bar in many different capacities. Along the way, I have worked with a diverse group of lawyers and judges. If elected, I promise to seek input from many viewpoints in formulating my recommendations. Thank you for your consideration.
