Dec. 4, 2013 – Two judges for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, Diane Sykes and David F. Hamilton, are the opening speakers at the 2014 State Bar of Wisconsin Annual Meeting & Conference, June 26 and 27, at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva. The two-day conference offers high-quality sessions with three tracks to choose CLE programs in your areas of interest.
Diane Sykes was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in 2004. Prior to that, Sykes was a Wisconsin Supreme Court justice from 1999 to 2004 and a Milwaukee circuit court judge from 1992 to 99.
She was in private practice in Milwaukee from 1985 to 92. Sykes served as law clerk for the Hon. Terence T. Evans, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin from 1984 to 85. She earned her J.D. from Marquette University Law School in 1984.
David F. Hamilton was nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in 2009. Prior to that, he was nominated by President William J. Clinton to the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Indiana in 1994. He served as chief judge in 2008 – 09.
Hamilton was in private practice from 1984 to 89 and 1991 to 94, serving as counsel for Indiana Gov. Evan Bayh from 1989 to 91. Hamilton served as law clerk for the Hon. Richard Cudahy, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit from1983 to 84. He earned his J.D. from Yale in 1983.

Conference Registration
Tuition for the conference is $359 for members, $180 for PINNACLE Silver Ultimate Pass holders, and is included in the cost of the Gold Ultimate Pass. The luncheons cost $25 and are not included as part of the program packages.
