    Michael B. Brennan was nominated to fill the vacancy on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit

    Aug. 4, 2017 – President Donald Trump sent eighteen nominations to the U.S. Senate yesterday – ten recommendations for federal judgeships and four recommendations for U.S. Attorney positions. Among these nominations are two Wisconsin vacancies. Michael B. Brennan was nominated to fill the vacancy on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and Waushara County district attorney Scott C. Blader was nominated to fill the vacancy as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin.

    Brennan is a partner at Gass Weber Mullins LLC in Milwaukee. His current work involves cases and appeals in federal and state courts primarily in the area of commercial litigation. He also serves as a mediator and arbitrator. Prior to his current position, Brennan served nine years as a judge on the Milwaukee County Circuit Court and before that, as an assistant district attorney in Milwaukee County. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.

    Blader is the district attorney in Waushara County and has served since 2007. Prior to his current position, he worked at Blader Law Office focusing on criminal litigation. He received his bachelor’s degree from UW-Oshkosh and his J.D. from Marquette Law School.
