Rock County currently has an opening for an attorney to work in the Corporation Counsel’s Office. Work involves performance of professional legal services for the Rock County Human Services Department: prosecutes child in need of protection and services (CHIPS) cases, prosecutes termination of parental rights (TPR) petitions for Rock County, ensures that judicial reviews on CHIPS cases are done on a timely basis, handles guardianship and protective placement actions on behalf of Rock County including drafting petitions and preparing court orders, and ensures that the Department is in compliance with the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and the Interstate Compact on the placement of children (ICPC).Requirements include: graduation from accredited school of law, experience in professional legal work (preferably family law), and licensed to practice law in Wisconsin.
