    Supreme Court appoints Alverno College professor to Board of Bar Governors

    Feb. 14, 2000 - The Wisconsin Supreme Court has appointed Dr. Marcia Mentkowski, a professor at Alverno College in Milwaukee, to serve on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Wisconsin.

    Mentkowski has served previously on the Board of Bar Governors and was appointed on an interim basis until the Court adopts and implements a process for screening and appointing people to various boards, commissions and other bodies.

    The Board of Bar Governors manages and directs the activities of the State Bar. In accordance with Supreme Court Rule 10.05, the board consists of 42 members and six ex-officio members who are the officers of the State Bar of Wisconsin. The Supreme Court has the authority to appoint the board's three non-lawyer members.
