Young lawyers and young physicians teaming up to fight lung
disease
September 14, 1998 - On Saturday, September 19th at
Devil's Head Resort in Merrimac, volunteers from the Young Lawyers
Division of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Young Physicians Section
of the State Medical Society will team up to raise money for the
American Lung Association.
The event will include off-road and on-road bicycling of up to 15
miles as well as kids programs and lunch speaker Susan Steingass, the
President of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Steingass will provide an
update on current tobacco litigation.
State Bar Young Lawyers Division Past President Tim O'Brien, an
attorney in New Richmond, says the young lawyers of the bar welcome the
opportunity to team up with the State Medical Society. "This event is a
great chance for doctors and lawyers to work together for a worthy
cause. We welcome the opportunity to show we have common goals for our
communities."
Leslie Selby, Director of Community Health Projects for the Medical
Society, says the money raised will go toward smoking cessation and
prevention programs in Wisconsin.
