Local Attorney Elected to American Bar Foundation
MADISON, August 29, 2005 - Attorney John P. Macy, of
the law firm of Arenz, Molter, Macy & Riffle, S.C. in Waukesha and a
member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, has been elected Fellow in the
American Bar Foundation. Attorney Macy received his bachelor's degree in
English and Political Science cum laude from Carroll
College in 1977 and graduated in 1980 from the Marquette University Law
School.
The American Bar Foundation is the preeminent research center for the
empirical study of law, legal institutions, and legal processes in
society. The Fellows is an honorary organization of practicing
attorneys, judges and law teachers whose professional, public and
private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare
of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal
profession. Established in 1955, the organization of The Fellows
encourages and supports the research program of the American Bar
Foundation.
The State Bar of Wisconsin is the mandatory professional association,
created by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, for attorneys who hold a
Wisconsin law license. With more than 21,000 members, the State Bar aids
the courts in improving the administration of justice, provides
continuing legal education for its members to help them maintain their
expertise, and assists Wisconsin lawyers in carrying out community
service initiatives to educate the public about the legal system and the
value of lawyers.
