    PINNACLE Course Materials Go Digital

The next time you attend a State Bar of Wisconsin PINNACLE CLE program you won’t have to carry a heavy binder. As of today, all CLE course materials for State Bar programs will be in electronic format.

Sept. 17, 2014 – Don’t have a cow, but State Bar of Wisconsin PINNACLE CLE course materials are going electronic as of today, Sept. 17. There are many reasons why we think you’ll find electronic course materials to be more efficient and useful than print materials, and we’d like to share a few of those reasons with you.

Bob won’t be able to ‘commandeer’ your binders anymore.

Bob always comes into your office and asks to borrow something (like your materials binder) but you know you’ll never see that binder again. Well, not anymore. With electronic materials in PDF format, you can create a permanent electronic library that is easily stored, searchable, and can be shared with your entire office (even Bob). Anything that you download to your network or storage device, you’ll have forever. And there’s nothing Bob can do about that.

You’ve been carrying that weight a long time.

You’re heading out the door for a hearing, a deposition, a trial, or a CLE seminar, and you’re trying to juggle a laptop, an iPad, your client’s files, your smart phone, boxes of discovery, and at least one cup of coffee. But now you won’t need to carry any course material binders! You can access your course materials from your desktop, laptop, or other mobile device instead. And think of the shelf, desk, and even floor space you’ll save without all those clunky binders.

Oh, the places your materials will go!

You’ll have access to your materials from anywhere – your home, office, or anywhere you can use your laptop or mobile device. Use Adobe Reader, GoodReader for iPad, or another free downloadable program to access the files on-the-go or during a seminar to make notes electronically, or print relevant sections (or all the materials) ahead of time.

Okay, how does this work? And do I have to?

Course materials will be provided in PDF format and are downloadable from myStateBar on Wisbar.org up to four days prior to and 90 days after your seminar. But for those who would prefer materials in printed format, when registering for a seminar, please select the tuition option that includes printed materials for an additional $20. You’ll also have access to the PDFs and will receive the benefit of both options.

So it’s not the end of the world, and there’s no reason to have a cow. But if you want a cow, we have plenty for you here at the State Bar Center. If you have questions about the new electronic course materials format, please contact Tim Clark for more information.
