    Nominations for 2011 John Lederer Service Award due Aug. 19

    Aug. 3, 2011 – Named in memory of Oregon, Wis., attorney John Lederer, this award is presented to an individual, group, or organization exemplifying Lederer’s leadership, spirit, and dedication. Lederer saw it as his mission to help solo and small firm lawyers master skills and technology to build their practices. Nominations are due Aug. 19.

    Award criteria

    Nominees must demonstrate leadership in furthering the mission of the WSSFC, to educate and support solo and small firm attorneys as they practice the law, manage their businesses and enjoy their lives. Nominees are judged on their sustained, selfless service to projects, efforts, or organizations that benefit solo and small firm practitioners across Wisconsin. Nominees should contribute to the advancement of solo and small firm practitioners technology, legal education, practice management, ethics or quality of life.

    Past recipients are Ross Kodner and Lowell Sweet.

    Nominating procedure

    Send nominations detailing the reasons why the nominee should receive the award, a resume, or similar presentation of background. Include three letters of recommendation. Submit nominations to Paul Angel or Johanna Kirk before Aug.19, 2011.
