Oct. 20, 2010 – All Wisconsin-licensed attorneys automatically receive a free Wisconsin Lawyer Directory™ in January. However, those who have no need for the print publication can choose not to receive it. Contact the State Bar by Dec. 10 to communicate your desire to opt out.
Verify your listing
Now is also the time to verify your listing is correct. Why should you care if your listing is correct – because more than 95 percent of the respondents in the 2010 State Bar Readership Survey said that it is their directory of choice for Wisconsin lawyers.
The directory offers listings of Wisconsin lawyers, law firms, and corporations; listings of courts, court personnel, and selected state offices; information on the State Bar, law-related agencies, and legal vendors; and the Lawyer-to-Lawyer Directory.
Updates are quick and easy
Verification forms were sent to law firms last week, however it is easy to ensure the accuracy of your listing right now by checking the WisBar’s online Lawyer Directory. To make changes, select listing incorrect and log in to myStateBar.
The first time you log in, your user name is your email address or your State Bar membership number. Your password is the first four letters of your last name and your date of birth (smit07061955). Be sure to verify or add your email address to your listing. You can also add your firm’s Web site address, which will appear only in the online Lawyer Directory. To make changes by phone, call the State Bar at (608) 257-3838 or (800) 728-7788. Changes submitted after Dec. 3 may not be reflected in the 2011 directory.
Members who prefer not to receive their free directory should contact the Bar by Dec. 10.
