OLR announces new form for overdrafts on lawyer trust accounts
The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) announces, effective Jan. 1,
the Agreement to Notify OLR of Overdrafts on Lawyer Trust Accounts will
change to a one-page form. Exhibit A is eliminated.
The form must be filed with the OLR and the financial institution
when a new trust account or fiduciary account is established or if an
existing trust account or fiduciary account is not already subject to an
Overdraft Notification Agreement.
Existing agreements do not need to be updated with a new filing
unless the name of the financial institution has changed. The new
agreement covers successor financial institutions. Since changes in firm
membership no longer require the filing of an updated Exhibit A form,
the OLR will rely on State Bar membership information to identify firm
members.
The new agreement is available at www.wicourts.gov/olr and will be
available at the OLR Madison office on Jan. 1.
