Wisconsin Supreme Court Notice
Interim Order 16-05D: Pilot Project for Dedicated Trial Court Judicial Dockets for Large Claim Business and Commercial Cases
On Feb. 11, 2022, the Wisconsin Business Court Advisory Committee filed a rule petition seeking to extend the court’s pilot project for commercial court dockets for large claims business and commercial cases for an additional two years, and to amend the existing interim rule to extend the pilot project and to clarify that local input is considered before judges are appointed to the pilot commercial court docket.
The court has elected to extend the commercial pilot project until July 30, 2024, as set forth in the order. It further orders that by July 1, 2023, the committee shall either file a formal rule petition asking the court to amend the rules to adopt a permanent business court or shall advise the court in writing that it recommends the court permit the pilot project to expire.
ORDER ISSUED: June 29, 2022
DISPOSITION: Petition granted with further direction.
