The Wisconsin Law Foundation seeks grant applications for charitable or educational programs that promote greater public understanding of the law and the improvement of the administration of justice, or are an educational program or project that directly affects Wisconsin residents.
Wisconsin Law Foundation Truman Q. McNulty Grants 2022
In 2021, the Foundation awarded a total of $18,835 in grants for these 10 projects:
- ABC for Health’s Community Legal Education Program
- Boys & Girls Club of Portage County’s Legal Eagle Teen Court
- Briarpatch Youth Services, Inc.’s Restorative Justice Program
- Buffalo/Pepin County Teen Court
- Catholic Multicultural Center’s Immigration Legal Services Program
- Centro Legal’s Family Consultation Program
- Crawford County Teen Court
- Milwaukee Justice Center’s Technology-Based Intake Process
- Wisconsin Justice Initiative
- Wisconsin Teen Court Association’s 2021 Restorative Justice Summit
Thanks to donations from State Bar members, the Foundation annually provides high-impact Truman Q. McNulty grants of $1,000 to $2,400 each to projects that directly impact Wisconsin residents.
Take, for example, the Briarpatch Youth Services’ Restorative Justice Program. A Foundation McNulty grant helps the program assist more than 3,000 youth and their families.
In 2021, the Foundation awarded $18,835 in grants to 10 organizations – including Briarpatch – that help children and families, support teen court programs, assist those who can’t afford legal representation, create a safer intake process in Milwaukee to eliminate large indoor crowds, and promote public understanding of the law and legal history.

Supported by donations from State Bar members, the Foundation’s
Truman Q. McNulty Grants fund innovative programs that improve our justice system, such as
teen courts in our state and programs that
