Cheryl Daniels of Madison becomes the 66th State Bar president on July 1. Daniels said she is determined to help find solutions to the issues our members face in this challenging time.
May 19, 2021 – You and your colleagues are invited to join in the virtual swearing-in ceremony of Cheryl Furstace Daniels, the 66th president of the State Bar of Wisconsin.
The celebration and swearing-in for Daniels is 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. Attend by following this link to the ceremony.
The ceremony is held as part of the State Bar of Wisconsin Annual Meeting & Conference (AMC) – taking place in virtual format June 10-11, 2021. Find out more about the conference or reserve your spot.
Daniels succeeds current President Kathleen Brost, who was sworn in by virtual ceremony in September 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony for Daniels is the second to be held by video due to pandemic restrictions.
On July 1, 2021, as Daniels become president and Brost succeeds current Past President Jill Kastner, Margaret Hickey becomes president-elect of the State Bar. It will be a first for the State Bar – to have three women in the organization’s top three leadership positions for the second year running.

Daniels, U.W. 1985, has worked as an assistant legal counsel with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade & Consumer Protection in Madison for 11 years. She is a past president of the State Bar of Wisconsin Law Foundation, and served on the State Bar Board of Governors and the boards of the Government and Young Lawyers divisions.
