Oct. 2, 2019 – Legal Action of Wisconsin’s Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) fall training series begins Oct. 23. The VLP offers free, CLE-approved training to lawyers who commit to providing pro bono legal services to Legal Action of Wisconsin’s low-income clients.
Madison Sessions
The annual series of seminars begins in Madison at the Goodman Community Center at 149 Waubesa St. on Oct. 23-24, 2019. The sessions are:
Wednesday, Oct. 23: Representing Clients in Bankruptcy (6.0 CLE credits)
Thursday, Oct. 24: Eliminating Barriers to Employment
- Morning session – Expunction: Criminal Record and Conviction (3.0 CLE credits)
- Afternoon session – Driver’s License Recovery (3.0 CLE credits)
Milwaukee Sessions
The training continues in Milwaukee at U.W.-Milwaukee Conference Center at 161 W. Wisconsin Ave., Suite 6000, on Oct. 30-Nov. 1:
Wednesday, Oct. 30:
- Morning session – Domestic Abuse Injunctions (3.0 CLE credits)
- Afternoon session - A Pound of Flesh: Protecting Consumers from Unfair Debt (3.0 CLE) Collection
Thursday, Oct. 31: Housing Law
- Morning session – Eviction Defense (3.0 CLE credits)
- Afternoon session – Enforcing Tenant Rights (3.0 CLE credits)
Friday, Nov. 1: Afternoon session – Minor Guardianships (3.0 CLE credits)
