Nov. 21, 2018 – Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, is #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving, following the feasts of Thanksgiving and savvy shopping of Black Friday. We ask that you consider donating to the Wisconsin Law Foundation.
Joseph Cardamone, Kenosha County Corporation Counsel has made a commitment to support the programs of the Wisconsin Law Foundation.
“As a government attorney, I am already committed to service, and donating is a logical extension of that commitment,” Cardamone said.
Lawyers, he said, have an obligation to give back to our communities. “One of the best ways is through the Wisconsin Law Foundation, a great organization that pools our individual resources to do the greatest good,” he said.
Dena Welden of Wausau and Aissa Olivarez of Madison are two of three recipients of Belle Case LaFollette Awards – which are given to new lawyers who work with underserved populations and communities across our state. Welden assists victims of elder and domestic abuse in northern Wisconsin via Wisconsin Judicare, while Olivarez provides pro bono legal services to adults detained by the Department of Homeland Security.
Make a Big Impact
With your support, the Foundation in 2018 granted nearly $26,000 to innovative and creative programs, scholarships, grants, projects, and services across Wisconsin that impact Bar members and citizens throughout the state.
“We need the continued help, both financially and through the efforts of our volunteers, of the good members of the State Bar of Wisconsin,” said Kevin Lonergan, Foundation president.
