July 19, 2017 – A public reinstatement hearing will commence before Referee James W. Mohr Jr. on Aug. 31, 2017, at 9 a.m. (and continued, if necessary, on Sept. 1, 2017, at 9 a.m.), at the Milwaukee Bar Center, Cardozo Room, 424 E. Wells Street, Milwaukee, on the petition of Michael A. Mandelman, Mequon, to reinstate his Wisconsin law license. Any interested person may appear at the hearing and be heard in support of, or in opposition to, the petition for reinstatement.

In Disciplinary Proceedings Against Mandelman, 2014 WI 100, the Wisconsin Supreme Court revoked Mandelman’s law license, effective May 29, 2009, as discipline for Mandelman engaging in 22 counts of professional misconduct. Further, Mandelman had received discipline for professional misconduct on six prior occasions, including four lengthy license suspensions.

To be reinstated, Mandelman has the burden of substantiating by clear, satisfactory, and convincing evidence that: 1) he has the moral character to practice law in Wisconsin; 2) his resumption of the practice of law will not be detrimental to the administration of justice or subversive of the public interest; 3) all of his representations in his reinstatement petition are substantiated; and 4) he has complied fully with the terms of the order of suspension and with supreme court rules.
