April 19, 2017 – You are invited to join the Wisconsin Association of African-American Lawyers for a panel discussion on the intricacies surrounding the need for diversity in the legal profession – and how to make it happen.
The event, Diversifying the Law: Moving Beyond the Diversity & Inclusion Statement, is 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on April 27, at the State Bar Center in Madison.
Attorneys from all legal sectors, law students, HR professionals, and diversity and inclusion partners are encouraged to attend.
The event is free and is approved by the Board of Bar Examiners for 1.5 CLE credits.
About the Program
Panelists from a variety of backgrounds and legal sectors will provide strategies and tips on how firms and companies can advance their diversity efforts and ultimately work toward a more consistently inclusive profession.

Kelly S. Conrardy, Director of Attorney Recruiting & Retention, Godfrey & Kahn, S.C., Milwaukee Conrardy manages attorney recruitment and the firm’s diversity fellowship program.

Emery K. Harlan, Partner, MWH Law Group, Milwaukee and Chicago
A leader in promoting greater diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, Harlan previously served as chairman of one of the largest minority-owned law firms in the U.S. and co-founded the National Association of Minority Owned Law Firms, a trade association focused on creating opportunities for women and minority-owned law firms.

Sir Williams, Director of Admissions, University of Wisconsin Law School
Williams helped to secure multi-year grant funding for the U.W. Law School to develop and execute new pre-law diversity pipeline programming for early-career college students.
The panel will be moderated by Andrew Chevrez, chair of the State Bar’s Diversity Clerkship Program and member of the Diversity and Inclusion Oversight Committee.
