Hearing Order 14-07: Electronic Banking Rules
The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) filed this rule petition asking the court to amend or recreate the trust account rule and several related rules, specifically Supreme Court Rules 20:1.0, 20:1.5, 20:1.15, and 22.39. The OLR asserts the increased use of electronic banking and diminishing use of paper checks make it harder for lawyers to comply with trust account rules as currently written and harder for the OLR to monitor and investigate compliance with the rule.
Hearing Order Issued: Sept. 25, 2015
Disposition: A public hearing is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at 9:30 a.m., Supreme Court Room, State Capitol, Madison.
