Are you a solo practitioners or a small firm attorney? You may be eligible to apply for a scholarship to the 2014 Wisconsin Solo & Small Firm Conference, Oct. 23-25 in Wisconsin Dells.
July 16, 2014 – The Solo/Small Firm & General Practice Section for the first time will offer scholarship grants to help up to five Wisconsin solo and small firm attorneys with the cost of registration for the Wisconsin Solo & Small Firm Conference, scheduled for Oct. 23-25, at the Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells.
Preference for the scholarships will be given to solo practitioners and small firm attorneys who would otherwise be unable to attend the conference due to financial constraints. Grant winners will be responsible for their own travel and lodging costs, but the section will pay their conference registration fee.

“We think this will be a win-win for the members we serve,” said Board member Roberta A. Heckes of Adell, who is leading the Grant Selection Committee. “Attorneys who might benefit from the conference but can’t attend due to financial constraints will be able to hear national plenary speakers, attend useful CLE sessions and network with other solo and small firm lawyers.
“And given that we will ask grant recipients to become involved with the section or with planning for the conference, we are investing in the future as well,” said Heckes.
Interested solo and small firm attorneys should complete a scholarship application and return it to Heckes by Sept. 12. Recipients will be notified by Sept. 26 so that they have enough time to plan to attend the conference.
