“Lawyers don’t need to make large investments in software and hardware to get a great practice management system,” says State Bar of Wisconsin Practice Management Advisor Nerino Petro. “I believe that practice management systems, like Clio, allow lawyers to improve their efficiency through better workflow. This means lawyers can focus on building their practice rather than worry about technology.” Clio, which was first offered to State Bar members in November 2012, announces the following new features:
Create Payment Profiles at the client level not just the system level. This means that you can set custom payment terms such as net 10, 30, or 60 days, or more for each client allowing you to have more control over how you bill.
Force strong passwords. In multi-user firms, Clio account administrators now can require users to develop strong/complex passwords. Password security is the first line of defense to prevent a data breach.
With the Clio Connect feature, you can share documents and bills online and securely with clients and others. Like banking institutions, you can now create a custom message to the party or parties who receive communications from you.
Interface enhancements to the Settings menu now allow you to group by category, which improves ease-of-use.
