The program, which focuses on what lawyers need to know about technology in their office today and tomorrow, features State Bar Practice Management Advisor Nerino Petro and Professional Ethics Committee member Dean R. Dietrich.
Technology is a fact of life for lawyers, and the pace of technological change continues to increase. From issues such as metadata and redaction to backup and securing your information to social networking and cloud storage, what are the challenges that face Wisconsin lawyers not only today but tomorrow? This session will address everyday ethical questions related to lawyers’ use of technology in their practice, such as:
What is the ABA’s Ethics 20/20 Commission, and why should Wisconsin lawyers should care about its recommendations?
What do lawyers need to know about social networking including Facebook, Twitter, and their competitors, not only for themselves but for their clients in an employment law context?
What does cloud computing mean for lawyers, and what are the ethical issues that you need to understand before using it?
