Personal hygiene. Inappropriate work attire. Perpetual lateness. Vulgar language. Flirtatious conduct. The list goes on for the types of workplace behaviors that can lead to conversations more terrifying than being a professional baseball player staying at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee.

If you've ever supervised other employees, you've probably had at least one scary conversation at work – it’s an inescapable part of managing people. So how do you approach these conversations? How should you prepare? What do you say and how do you say it so that your relationship stays intact and you get the desired results?

Here are some tips to help you prepare for and succeed in these scary conversations.

How much time did you spend replying to that other client’s email?

How long were you on the phone with your child’s teacher?

Were you pinning your favorite recipes on Pinterest for five minutes or 15 minutes?

How many times did you watch that <a href="

Tour the local courthouse and meet judges and court personnel

Have a discussion about ethics and malpractice insurance

Review how to recognize conflicts of interest and share tips for maintaining strong client relations

Experience the many benefits of being a mentor or mentee. The application deadline to participate in Ready.Set.Practice. for 2017 is November 15. To apply, contact Megan Zurbriggen at <a href="
