Tech Tip | Remote Signatures, E-Notarizations
Clients can electronically sign documents, including engagement agreements, through a feature on Zoom. To enable the electronic document signing in Zoom, lawyers must first install the DocuSign eSignature App from https://marketplace.zoom.us/. A subscription plan with DocuSign also is necessary.
Here’s how it works: Begin a new Zoom meeting and then click on the Apps icon to select DocuSign. From there, you can select the document you would like signed, share the agreement, and pass control of the screen to the client for signing.

Out There | Mad About Mac and Cheese
A Florida woman has filed a class action against Kraft Heinz, claiming that the packaging for the company’s single-serving cup of Velveeta Shells and Cheese is misleading.
A badge on the package front reads “Ready in 3 ½ minutes.” But the instructions on the back specify that while the product needs to be heated in a microwave for three-and-a-half minutes, preparation also requires removing the lid, adding water, and stirring the product after it has been microwaved.
Those steps all take additional time; hence the lawsuit.
According to the plaintiff, the misleading packaging “offends public policy and is immoral, unethical, oppressive, and unscrupulous to customers.”
The plaintiff is seeking more than $5 million in damages. She’s also seeking an order that would require Kraft Heinz to undertake an advertising campaign informing consumers that it takes longer than three-and-a-half minutes to prepare the product.

Among the 50 states, Wisconsin had the lowest number of filed medical malpractice reports from 2012 to 2022, according to NiceRX, a pharmaceutical company. The 588 reports filed in Wisconsin between 2012 and 2022 resulted in a ratio of 1.01 reports per 10,000 residents.
The state with the highest number of medical malpractice reports during the same period was New York, with 15,951 (19.03 per 10,000 residents).
