New Hires, Promotions, Partners
Eric W. Anderson, U.W. 1986, has joined Parker,
Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs LLP, Atlanta, Ga., as a partner. He will
continue to practice in bankruptcy, restructuring, and commercial
finance.
Robert E. Callan, Marquette 1981, has joined the
Milwaukee office of Davis & Kuelthau, s.c. as a shareholder in the
business and corporate law section, focusing his practice on commercial
lending, mergers and acquisitions, and general business and corporate
law. He previously was general counsel for Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers
Inc.
Daniel D. Crean, U.W. 1970, has joined the New
Hampshire Public Risk Management Exchange, Concord, N.H., as legal
consultant. He previously practiced as a sole practitioner for 20 years,
concentrating on all aspects of municipal law.

Stephen A. DiTullio, U.W. 1992, has been named
managing partner of DeWitt Ross & Stevens, Madison. DiTullio also
will continue focusing on representing management in labor and
employment matters. He is the chair of the Community Development
Committee for Hospice Care Inc. and a member of the safety committee of
the Wisconsin Transportation Builders Association.
Leslie E. Doerr, Marquette 2000, has joined
Northwestern Mutual as a specialist in the marketing materials review
division of compliance best practices. Doerr previously was an associate
director of major gifts at Mount Mary College, Milwaukee.
Foley & Lardner has promoted the following to partner in the
firm's Madison office: Anat Hakim, Harvard 1993, a
member of the intellectual property litigation and e-business and
information technology practice groups, works on patent, trademark, and
domain name disputes, and counsels clients in internet law and
e-commerce litigation; and Gregory Monday, U.W. 1993, a
member of the tax and individual planning department, advises clients in
asset protection, succession of family businesses, and estate management
through will drafting and trust creation and administration.

Alan Gesler, U.W. 1970, has joined Stierman,
Steffens & Kuphall S.C., Waukesha, as of counsel with Daniel
D. Blinka, U.W. 1978. The firm offers arbitration, mediation,

Michael Gotzler, U.W. 1997 cum laude, has joined the
Chicago office of Baker & McKenzie, as an associate in the firm's
labor and employment group. He previously was an associate in the labor
and employment group at Seyfarth Shaw, Chicago.
Dennis R. Krueger, U.W. 1987, has joined Habush
Habush & Rottier S.C., Waukesha, practicing personal injury law. He
previously was an assistant district attorney in Waukesha County.
Ricardo Perez, U.W. 1999, has joined the firm as an
associate. He formerly was with Peterson, Johnson & Murray S.C.
Perez is practicing personal injury law in Habush's newly opened Kenosha
office.
Spencer E. Davczyk, Marquette 2001, has joined the
Wausau office of Kasdorf, Lewis & Swietlik S.C., as an associate
practicing in products liability and insurance defense. Brian C.
Williams, Marquette 2001, has transferred from the firm's
Milwaukee office to the Wausau office, and Anthony P.
Hahn, Marquette 2000, has transferred from the Wausau office to
the Milwaukee office. Both are associates practicing in products
liability and insurance defense.
Linda S. McPike, Northwestern 1992, has rejoined von
Briesen, Purtell & Roper S.C., Milwaukee, in the health law practice
group. She previously was with Extendicare Health Services, and before
that von Briesen, Purtell & Roper.
Elizabeth A. Krueger, Marquette 2000, has joined the
West Bend City Attorney's Office as an assistant city attorney.
Meghan P. MacKelly, Marquette 2001, has joined Kohn
Law Firm S.C., Milwaukee, focusing on debt collection and commercial
litigation.
Matthew S. Mayer, Marquette 1990, and Mark
A. Sauer, Petit College of Law 1996, have been elected
shareholders at Mallery & Zimmerman S.C., Wausau. Mayer practices
commercial litigation, personal injury, and family law. Sauer practices

Diane J. Silverberg (Kliebard), U.W. 1986, has been
named a partner of Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit, Buffalo Grove, Ill. She
practices commercial and complex litigation, and electronic records risk
management consulting. She has recently authored articles on electronic
records issues and lectured on electronic records discovery issues.
Harvey Temkin, Illinois 1978, has joined Reinhart
Boerner Van Deuren S.C., Madison, as a shareholder. Temkin was voted
Madison's top real estate lawyer in a 2001 Madison Magazine
poll.

specialized personal injury and insurance litigation practice, as
Brodd Law Firm LLC, Hudson, Wis. He is a certified
civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is
licensed to practice in all courts in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. has opened a new
office in Kenosha at 6905 S. Green Bay Rd. The new office handles
personal injury litigation.

Schill, Marquette 1991, and Timothy S. Gebert,
Detroit College of Law 1995, have established Panek Schill &
Gebert LLP, 110 E. Grand Ave., Suite 130, Wisconsin Rapids.
Panek practices business law, estate planning and probate, credit union
law, and real estate. Schill is a general practitioner emphasizing
family law. Gebert, also a general practitioner, emphasizes civil and
criminal litigation.

and Bright Consulting Inc., a lobbying firm, have formed a strategic

Peter J. Walsh, Depaul University 1998, with Walsh
& Keating S.C., Milwaukee, published an article in the December 2001

Appointments, Elections
Hon. Faye M. Flancher, Marquette 1988, has been
appointed judge to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Hon.
Dennis J. Flynn, Marquette 1967. Flancher previously was deputy family
court commissioner.

Patrick W. Brennan, Marquette 1981, has been elected
president of the Civil Trial Counsel of Wisconsin (CTCW), a 700-member
organization of lawyers primarily devoted to the defense of civil
litigation. Brennan is a shareholder with Crivello, Carlson, Mentkowski
& Steeves, Milwaukee. CTCW lawyers provide legal services to
businesses, individuals, and public entities throughout the state.
Dennis R. McBride, NYU 1980, has been appointed to a
committee of federal judges and lawyers from Illinois, Indiana, and
Wisconsin, that is drafting model jury instructions for use in U.S.
district courts in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
McBride is a senior trial attorney in the Milwaukee district office of
the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Carol M. Gapen, U.W. 1988 cum laude, has been
elected managing partner of the Madison law firm of Stafford Rosenbaum
LLP. Gapen practices in adoption and children's law and is a member of
the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys.
Larry Phillips, Drake 1960, Lt. Col. USAF (ret.),
has been appointed to the U.S. Air Force Retiree Council. He will serve
as the liaison for military retiree offices in Wisconsin, Iowa,
Nebraska, Minnesota, and North and South Dakota.
Claire Ann Resop, U.W. 1993, with Murphy &
Desmond S.C., Madison, has been elected to the Bach Dancing and Dynamite
Society's board of directors. Daniel G. Jardine, also
with the firm, was elected to the Dane County Humane Society's board of
directors for a three-year term.
Scott Roberts, U.W. 1979, has been appointed to the
Wisconsin Supreme Court's Board of Administrative Oversight, part of the
lawyer regulation system. Roberts is a sole practitioner in Stevens
Point and previously was a Portage County assistant district
attorney.

Hon. Elsa C. Lamelas, Michigan 1978, received the
2001 Outstanding Women of Achievement Award from the YWCA of Greater
Milwaukee. She was one of six award winners.
