BAPR Board Member Biographies
Sharren B. Rose (chair), U.W. 1979, Green Bay, is a
partner in Nelson & Schmeling, a firm of nine lawyers. She
practices in family law, probate and estate planning, real estate,
and business law.
Jon P. Axelrod, U.W. 1968, Madison, is a shareholder
in DeWitt Ross & Stevens S.C., a 60-lawyer firm. His practice
includes insurance regulation, administrative law, areas of complex
litigation, and appeals.
Laura De Golier, Fond du Lac, a public member, is the
executive director of the Wisconsin Conservation Corps. She is
an active volunteer in professional associations, political campaigns,
and environmental efforts. She is a graduate of Carroll College,
with a B.A. in political science and economics.
Arthur Egbert (vice chair), Green Lake, is a public
member. He is president of Guaranty Title Services of Lake Country
Inc. and is active in professional and service organizations.
He served 32 years in the financial services industry. He is
a graduate of Marquette University, with a B.S. in business administration.
William F. Fale, Marquette 1972, Sheboygan, is a partner
in Fale, Fale & Hemsing, a two-person law firm started by
his father. He is a general practitioner in family law, personal
injury law, collections, and insurance defense.
William N. Koslo, U.W. 1963, Arcadia, is a partner
in Kostner, Koslo & Brovold, a six-person firm. He is a general
practitioner focusing primarily on business law.
James L. Martin, U.W. 1977, Madison, is a Madison assistant
city attorney. His practice includes land use regulation, annexations,
administrative law, and appeals. On Nov. 18, 1998, he was approved
by the supreme court to serve as interim administrator of BAPR.
He assumed the duties on Dec. 7, 1998, and resigned from the
board following his agreement to serve as interim administrator
through Sept. 30, 2000.
Gerald M. O'Brien, U.W. 1959, Stevens Point, is
a partner in Anderson, Shannon, O'Brien, Rice & Bertz,
a firm of 14 lawyers. He practices in personal injury and business
litigation.
Trinette D. Pitts, U.W. 1982, Milwaukee, is a partner
in the law firm of Pitts & Pitts, which she started with
her mother. She practices personal injury law.
Bonnie L. Schwid, Milwaukee, is a public member. She
is a certified forensic document examiner in private practice
with offices in Milwaukee and Chicago. She serves as a consultant
and expert witness for attorneys and businesses in matters concerning
forged or altered records.
Gary Bakke, U.W. 1965, New Richmond, is a partner in
Bakke Norman S.C. and is a general practitioner. He is State
Bar president-elect, and serves as an ex-officio member of the
board.
In addition, Hon. Mark Farnum, U.W. 1952, Beloit, a
reserve circuit court judge, was appointed by the supreme court
on Aug. 21, 1998, to be its liaison with the board.
