Maureen D. Boyle, U.W. 1994, has joined the Barron County
District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney. She
previously was an assistant district attorney in Walworth and Rock
counties.
Marc E. Christopher, Drake 2001 with honors, has joined the
Milwaukee office of Yost & Baill LP as an associate and focuses on
automobile and property subrogation. He previously was a Racine County
assistant district attorney.
Nathan J. Dosch, Marquette 2004, has joined Neider &
Boucher S.C., Madison, and focuses on estate planning and business and
tax law. He previously was owner and managing attorney at Dosch Law Firm
LLC, Appleton.
T.J. Estabrook, Hamline 2003, CPA, has joined O’Neil,
Cannon, Hollman, DeJong S.C., Milwaukee, and focuses on tax and
corporate law aspects of mergers and acquisitions. He previously was
with Ernst & Young LLP.

Solutions, Milwaukee, as a managing director. He previously was with The

Carl J. Artman, Washington Univ. 1991, LL.M. Denver, has
joined Godfrey & Kahn S.C. as a shareholder in the Indian nations
and environmental and energy practice groups. He previously was
assistant secretary of Indian affairs and associate solicitor for Indian
affairs, both with the U.S. Department of the Interior, Washington, D.C.

Dan Johnson, Marquette 1999, has been promoted to partner at
Ryan Kromholz & Manion S.C., Brookfield, and continues to focus on
trial- and appellate-level patent, copyright, and trademark litigation.
Lora A. Kaelber, Marquette 2000, has joined the MACC Fund
– Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer Inc., Milwaukee, as a
development officer. She previously was with End, Hierseman & Crain
LLC.
Warren P. Kraft, Marquette 1982, has been appointed director
of human resources and assistant city attorney for the city of West
Bend. He remains of counsel to Murphy Desmond S.C., Madison, and
previously was Oshkosh city attorney.
Kyle W. Lathrop, Iowa 1992, has joined the medical products
division of W.L. Gore & Associates, Flagstaff, Ariz., as health care
counsel. He previously was assistant general counsel with Stiefel
Laboratories Inc., Coral Gables, Fla.

John T. Podbielski Jr., Marquette 1992, has opened

Daniel T. Dennehy, Marquette 1979 magna cum laude, has been
elected legal counsel to the Wisconsin Society of Healthcare Human
Resources Administration board. He is a partner with von Briesen &
Roper s.c., Milwaukee, and focuses on advising health care providers on
all aspects of employment, personnel, and labor matters.
Fred Gants, Chicago 1976, has been appointed to the committee
that will recommend candidates for the Western District of Wisconsin
clerk of court position. He is a partner with the Madison office of
Quarles & Brady LLP and is the Madison office coordinator for the
firm’s national labor and employment practice group.
Kathryn A. Keppel, Marquette 1986, has been elected to the
State Bar Appellate Practice Section board. She is a partner with
Gimbel, Reilly, Guerin & Brown, Milwaukee, and focuses on appellate
practice, civil litigation, and products liability matters.

The Hon. Ralph Adam Fine, Columbia 1965, has authored the
newly revised editions of The How-To-Win Trial Manual, The
How-To-Win Appeal Manual, and Fine’s Wisconsin
Evidence, all published by Juris Publishing. He is on the Wisconsin
Court of Appeals.
Richard J. Podell, U.W. 1969, spoke about “Trends in
Family Law” at the Canadian Bar Association conference in
Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. He is president of Richard J.
Podell & Associates, Milwaukee.
Authors of the recently revised Real Estate Transactions System
(State Bar CLE Books 4th ed. 2008) are Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren

Conference in Park City in September. He also taught a course,
“Tippecanoe and Who? – Looking Through the Lens of
History/Seeing the 2008 Presidential Election,” at Lawrence
University’s Bjorklunden Seminars in September. He is a Wisconsin
reserve judge.

Anderson, William Mitchell 1975, was a corecipient of the
Steven J. Sharp Award, presented by the American Association for
Justice, and was a finalist for the Public Justice Foundation’s
trial lawyer of the year award, both in recognition of his work in
clergy sex abuse litigation. He is with Jeff Anderson & Associates,

Frank T. Crivello II, Marquette 1993, has been admitted to
membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is with
Warshafsky, Rotter, Tarnoff & Bloch S.C., Milwaukee.
Michael J. Fitzgerald, Marquette 1985, has become a fellow of
the American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor extended to experienced
trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose careers
have been marked by ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and
collegiality. He is a partner with Glynn, Fitzgerald & Albee,
Milwaukee.
Two jurists received awards from Jewish Family Services (JFS),
Milwaukee. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to the Hon.
Shirley Abrahamson, Indiana Univ. 1956, chief justice of the
Wisconsin Supreme Court, for an exemplary career in which she has
maintained the highest standards of justice for individuals and families
in Wisconsin. The Hon. Kitty Brennan, U.W. 1977, received the
Spirit of Caring Award for her exceptional commitment to JFS’s
mission and service to the Milwaukee community while she was chief judge
of the Milwaukee County Circuit Court. Brennan now is on the Wisconsin
Court of Appeals.
Stephen C. Nick, U.W. 1995, received the Daniel J. Curtin Jr.
Young Public Lawyer of the Year Award from the International Municipal
Lawyers Association in September. Nick, Eau Claire city attorney, was
honored for providing outstanding public service, possessing an
exemplary reputation, and having high ethical standards, all while
balancing professional and personal pursuits.

Pro Bono, Public Service
Foley & Lardner LLP presented a check of more than
$125,000 to the Hunger Task Force in September. Milwaukee office
personnel make donations for each regular-season strikeout recorded by a
Milwaukee Brewers’ pitcher at Miller Park; the firm extended the
program through the playoffs this year.
Employees of Murphy Desmond S.C., Madison, donated more than
$500 worth of school supplies for low-income students in the Boscobel,
Iowa-Grant, Madison, and Mineral Point school districts.
