Byron

Stephanie L. Adamany, U.W. 2002, has joined the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, Madison, as assistant general counsel. She previously was an associate with Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi LLP, Minneapolis.

Kraig A. Byron, Wyoming 1992 with honors, has joined the Madison office of Brennan, Steil & Basting S.C. and focuses on family law and civil litigation.

Karen M. Gallagher, Marquette 1995, has rejoined Coyne, Schultz, Becker & Bauer S.C., Madison, as an associate and focuses on civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance coverage issues. Capt. Andrew G. Griffin, Marquette 2003, has been assigned as an area defense counsel for the Pacific Circuit and is stationed at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. He previously was a staff judge advocate at Kadena Air Base.

Brian T. Flood, Syracuse 2000, and Andrew P. Goetsch, Loyola-Chicago 2000, have joined Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP. Flood focuses on the defense of contractors and subcontractors in the Appleton office. Goetsch focuses on professional liability defense matters in the Milwaukee office. He previously was an Illinois assistant attorney general.

Kimberly Haas, William Mitchell 2000, has joined Wisconsin Judicare, Wausau, as a staff attorney in the civil law unit.

John C. Kloosterman, U.W. 1995, has joined Littler Mendelson P.C., San Francisco, as a shareholder and focuses on labor and employment law.

Todd Joseph Koback, U.W. 1999, has joined Davczyk & Varline LLC, Wausau, as an associate and concentrates on insurance defense and civil litigation.

Laura Krishnan, U.W. 1998 cum laude, has been elected a partner in Parsinen Kaplan Rosberg & Gotlieb P.A., Minneapolis, and continues to focus on estate planning and probate issues.

Goldman	Palek

Lisa C. Goldman, U.W. 1997, and Roger W. Palek, Thomas Cooley 1993, have joined Lawton & Cates S.C., Madison. Goldman focuses on personal injury, business litigation, and criminal defense. Palek focuses on labor union and employment law.

Paul D. Lehmann, U.W. 2001, has become special assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of Florida. He previously was judge advocate for the U.S. Coast Guard, Miami.

Douglas D. Timmer, Virginia 1995, and Andrew T. Vedder, Virginia 1997, have joined the law department at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., Milwaukee, both as assistant general counsel and assistant secretaries on the investments-securities team. Timmer previously was a partner with Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Chicago. Vedder previously was a senior counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP, Milwaukee.

Gina M. Ozelie, Marquette 2006, has joined Stadler, Centofanti & Philips S.C., Mequon, as an associate and concentrates on civil and commercial litigation.

Ryan P. Fetherston, Marquette 2006 cum laude, and Emily F. McNally, Marquette 2006 cum laude, have joined Peterson, Johnson & Murray S.C., as associates. Fetherston is with the Milwaukee office. McNally focuses on litigation and worker's compensation in the Madison office.

Dennis F. Tomorsky, Detroit 1981, has been appointed executive director of the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs, Brookfield. He previously was a shareholder with Davis & Kuelthau SC, Brookfield.

Ardell W. Skow, U.W. 1966, has merged his practice with the firm now known as Bye, Goff, Rohde & Skow Ltd., River Falls, and continues to concentrate on personal injury matters. He previously was with Doar, Drill & Skow, Baldwin.

Lucas

Marcia Lucas, Notre Dame 1993, has been appointed to the State Bar Board of Governors to fill the seat vacated by Margaret Hickey, who has become board chair. Lucas is a partner in the business practice group at the Milwaukee office of Michael Best & Friedrich LLP.

Authors, Speakers

Several Wisconsin attorneys spoke at the annual conference of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Diane Diel, U.W. 1976, who has a solo practice in Milwaukee, spoke on applying ethics in collaborative practice. The Hon. Mary Triggiano, U.W. 1988, with the Milwaukee County Circuit Court, spoke on diversity within a collaborative practice. Karyn Gimbel Youso, Washington Univ. 1993, with Jacobson & Ratzel, Brookfield, spoke about domestic abuse. Karen Zimmermann, Marquette 1982, with Zimmermann & Assocs., Bayfield, presented "The K Family Divorce: A Video Introduction to Multidisciplinary Collaborative Practice."

Michael S. Heffernan, U.W. 1977, has authored the revised fourth edition of Appellate Practice and Procedure in Wisconsin (State Bar CLE Books 2006). He is with the Madison office of Foley & Lardner LLP. Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge Richard S. Brown, U.W. 1971, authored the book's "Standards of Appellate Review" appendix.

Jeffrey S. Krause, Marquette 1996, presented several Time Matters Boot Camp training seminars. He is with Information Technology Professionals LLC, Milwaukee.

Steven W. Martin, U.W. 1973, has authored the revised third edition of the Wisconsin Construction Lien Law Handbook (State Bar CLE Books 2006). He is with CMT Legal Group Ltd., Waukesha.

Carlton D. Stansbury, Iowa 1990 with distinction, presented "Great Debates on Child Custody Evaluations from a Lawyer's Perspective" at the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts Seventh International Symposium on Child Custody Evaluations in Atlanta. He practices family law with Burbach & Stansbury S.C., Milwaukee.

Antoinette Vacca, Marquette 2005, spoke about copyright and the performing arts at the 65th annual meeting of the Midwest chapter of the Music Library Association in Milwaukee in October. She also has authored "Boxing: Why It Should Be Down for the Count," Sports Law J., Spring 2006, No. 1.

Waring Fincke, U.W. 1975, is the 2006 recipient of the William M. Coffey Defender Award, presented by the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers to an individual who has made significant contributions to professionalism in the practice of criminal law. Fincke's solo practice in West Bend is devoted almost entirely to criminal defense.

Eich

The Hon. William Eich is included in Best Lawyers in America 2007. His practice in Madison focsues on mediation, arbitration, and appellate practice, and he formerly was a judge on the Dane County Circuit Court and the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.

David J. Wambach, Marquette 1985, has been named the 2006 Prosecutor of the Year by the Wisconsin District Attorney's Association, in recognition of his successful prosecution of two "cold case" homicides. He is Jefferson County District Attorney.
