Schroeder to Chair State Bar Section
Rhinelander attorney will head Real Property & Probate Trust
section
MADISON, June 16, 2003 - Attorney William A.
Schroeder has been elected chairperson for the State Bar of Wisconsin's
Real Property & Probate Trust section beginning July 1. During his
one-year term, he will oversee a 27-member committee that provides a
forum for practitioners to examine real property, trusts and probate
law. This section also recommends legislation and has published a
multidisciplinary report.
Schroeder has been practicing law since 1967 and is a partner in the
law firm of Sommer, Olk, Schroeder & Payant, LLP. He is a graduate
of the United States Naval Academy and received his law degree with
distinction from The University of Michigan Law School in 1966. He is a
Navy veteran, and a member of the Rhinelander Rotary Club.
The State Bar of Wisconsin is the mandatory professional association,
created by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, for attorneys who hold a law
license in Wisconsin. With more than 20,000 members, the State Bar aids
the courts in improving the administration of justice, provides
continuing legal education for its members to help them maintain their
expertise, and assists Wisconsin lawyers in carrying out community
service initiatives to educate the public about the legal system and the
value of lawyers.
