    Wisconsin Supreme Court Notice

March 3, 2021 – On Thursday, April 8, 2021 (and if necessary continuing on Friday, April 9, 2021), commencing at 9 a.m., a public hearing will be held before referee Jean A. DiMotto at the Waukesha County Courthouse, Room 121, 515 W. Moreland Road, Waukesha, on the petition of Robert B. Moodie, Brookfield, to reinstate his Wisconsin law license. Any interested person may appear at the hearing and be heard in support of or in opposition to the petition.

On April 22, 2020, the Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended Moodie’s Wisconsin law license for six months based on misconduct related to his conversion of attorney fees belonging to his law firm for personal use, in violation of SCR 20:8.4(c); and his failure to tender and report law firm fees received and misrepresenting write-offs of billable time to his firm, in violation of SCR 20:8.4(f). Disciplinary Proc. Against Moodie, 2020 WI 39.

In September 2020, Moodie petitioned for reinstatement of his Wisconsin law license. To be reinstated, Moodie has the burden of substantiating by clear, satisfactory, and convincing evidence that 1) he has the moral character to practice law in Wisconsin, 2) his resumption of the practice of law will not be detrimental to the administration of justice or subversive of the public interest, 3) all of his representations in his reinstatement petition are substantiated, and 4) he has complied fully with the terms of the orders of suspension and with SCR 22.26.
