April 3, 2019 – This month, State Bar of Wisconsin members will elect a president-elect, a treasurer, a Judicial Council representative, district governors, and division officers and board members.
State Bar election ballots were mailed the week of Monday, April 1, 2019. They need to be returned by April 26 to be counted in this year’s elections.
“The State Bar’s Board of Governors influences the future of the State Bar as well as sets its policy direction,” says State Bar Past President Paul Swanson. “Your vote for these candidates will make a difference in the future of your practice and your profession.”

Board of Governors’ Election
The Board of Governors is the State Bar's policymaking body. Governors serve two-year terms.
Districts 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 15 will elect governors in 2019. District 2 (Milwaukee) elects seven; District 9 (Dane) elects three; and all other districts elect one.
