He previously was a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Jodi Williamson, Rochester, Minn. Kritzer focuses on mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, real estate, securities, and intellectual property law.

    Jeffrey S. Kuglitsch, Southern Illinois 1988, has become Rock County corporation counsel. He previously was Shawano County corporation counsel.

    Michael R. Fitzpatrick, Drake 1984, has been appointed to the Office of Lawyer Regulation grievance committee by the Wisconsin Supreme Court and to the State Bar Committee on Professional Ethics. He is chair of the litigation practice group with the Janesville office of Brennan, Steil & Basting S.C.

    Hugh R. Jones, U.W. 1986, has been elected president of the National Association of State Charity Officials and is the 2007 recipient of the President's Award from the Hawaii State Bar Association. He is Hawaii deputy attorney general.

    The Hon. Charles B. Schudson, U.W. 1974, presented the keynote address, "The Judicial Art in America Today - Touching Citizens, Leading Lawyers, Maintaining Independence," to the Indiana Judicial Conference in September. He is a reserve judge.

    Dean Dietrich, Marquette 1977, and his wife, C. Ann, received the Cornerstone Award from Newman Catholic Schools (NCS) in honor of their significant contributions to the success and growth of the NCS family of schools, all in the Wausau area. He is a shareholder with Ruder Ware LLSC, Wausau, and chair of the State Bar Professional Ethics Committee.

    Carol M. Gapen, U.W. 1988, was named a 2007 Angel in Adoption, a national award that honors her outstanding advocacy in adoption and foster care issues. She is cofounder of The Law Center for Children & Families, Madison.
