If you’re interested in giving back to your profession and your community, our public service programs and services offer many exciting and valuable options to explore.

Public Education

The Public Education Division administers programs that promote civic awareness and responsible, informed participation in government. The Division helps bring law related education directly to schools and communities. Programs administered by the State Bar include:

  • Mock Trial
  • Judicial Teaching Institute
  • Court with Class
  • Many free resources and publications are also available

Pro Bono

Equal access to justice is important for all Wisconsin residents, and you can help ensure they receive it.

The State Bar helps with:

  • Pro Bono Initiative grants
  • Free liability insurance
  • Expense reimbursement
  • Pro bono project development

Modest Means Referral Service

By accepting reduced fees, you can assist individuals who need alternative payment options. The service currently makes referrals in the areas of bankruptcy, criminal, consumer, probate, and family law, and provides free liability insurance. There are no registration or referral fees. Fee Arbitration Program

If you’re struggling with a client who believes the fees you’ve charged are excessive, the Fee Arbitration Program provides fast, inexpensive arbitration hearings to settle fee disputes between lawyers and their clients. More information on Fee Arbitration program.
