Hotline Attorney of the Year Award
The Hotline Attorney of the Year Award, presented by the Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) Committee, is presented to an attorney or group of attorneys whose commitment to the service is represented by long-term and dedicated participation. Since this public service program’s inception in 1979, attorneys volunteer their evenings to return calls to those needing answers to basic legal questions.
The Hotline Attorney of the Year goes to Jon Stanek of Hudson for his longstanding commitment and dedication to the program. Jon has been volunteering for the Lawyer Hotline for the past two years, assisting individuals across the state with basic legal questions, and giving advice on how to proceed with the problem they are experiencing. Jon has been able to provide a needed service to individuals who have a simple legal question, but who otherwise may not have been able to afford an attorney.
When he’s not volunteering for the Lawyer Hotline, Jon stays busy managing his solo practice, located in Hudson and Edina. At Stanek Law Office, he represents workers and consumers in a variety of cases involving bankruptcy, consumer protection, employment law, and criminal defense.
Jon is licensed in both Minnesota and Wisconsin state courts, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota and the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and J.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 2004.
