    Deputy Register in Probate - Combined Court Operations

    Annual Salary: $51,272 - $124,800

    ​ Job Summary:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Reviews documents presented to the Probate Court, processes petitions, makes court orders, presides over court hearings, monitors and administers pending probate estate matters for timely resolution, and assists the public by answering questions about Probate Court.

    Minimum Education & Years of Experience Required:

    Professional Law Degree with three (3) years of experience practicing probate law.

    License/Certification:

    Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the State of Wisconsin.

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    Contact with peers and others involving explanation of information (these contacts may be within or outside department or division), and the gathering of factual information. May include communication of sensitive or confidential information.

    Contact across departments or visions with employees involving persuasion of others, absent formal authority, to conform to a policy interpretation or recommended course of action.

    External contact involving a requirement to maintain a continuing external working relationship with individuals, or organizations.

    Work Schedule: Routine shifts hours. Infrequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation.

    NOTE: This original application is open to permanent residents of the state of Wisconsin at the time of application. In accordance with Section 11, Rule 3 of the Civil Service Rules a non-competitive examination will be held for this position. The non-competitive examination will consist of criteria deemed appropriate by the Director of Human Resources.
