The City of De Pere is looking to fill an Assistant City Attorney position! This position performs professional legal work and is responsible for prosecuting ordinance/traffic offenses, advising officials and department heads, and other legal services for the City as required. Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program: The City of De Pere is a qualifying employer under the PSLF Program. The PSLF Program is a federal program that is intended to encourage individuals to work in public service by forgiving the balance of their federal student loans. To qualify, the individual must have made 120 qualifying payments while employed by a qualifying employer. Salary: The full salary range for this position is $75,545 - $103,604. It is anticipated that the new employee will be hired between $75,545 - $86,340. The City of De Pere rewards employees for exceptional work performance with a pay for performance incentive program. Employees may be awarded a salary increase, bonus, paid time off, or a combination thereof for exceptional work performance.
Work Schedule: The typical work schedule is Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. plus evening hours as needed for meetings. The City of De Pere recognizes the importance of its employees having a proper work-life balance and supports alternative work arrangements which include alternative work schedules, flexible scheduling, and remote work to help meet your lifestyle needs.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA accredited law school.
2. 1 - 3 years’ experience in municipal law and prosecution.
3. Licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin.
4. Compliance with continuing education requirements.
5. Valid unencumbered Wisconsin driver’s license and safe driving record.
6. Notary public commission.
7. Must have acceptable personal and professional history as determined by successfully completing a background investigation.
