Job Summary: Legal Aid’s Civil Division attorneys provide a lawyer and a leg up to Milwaukeeans facing legal and life challenges on matters ranging from housing and foreclosure, elder law and disability benefits, consumer and civil rights issues, to HIV/AIDs, bankruptcy and tax matters.

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and control deadlines
• Superior writing, editing, and research skills
• Ability to perform duties with independence and discretion
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative
Minimum Qualifications:
• Juris Doctorate (JD)
• Admission to the Wisconsin State Bar
• Ability to read and write Spanish a plus, although not a requirement
• Licensure with the State of Wisconsin
• Successful completion of background check
