Manitowoc County is seeking a full-time Assistant Corporation Counsel. The successful candidate will represent the interest of the state as the attorney for the Manitowoc County Child Support Agency and will be responsible for the commencement and handling of legal proceedings to establish paternity and child support (as well as modifications thereto); initiating interstate actions; and initiating contempt and commitment order actions. Secondary responsibilities may include matters involving children in need of protection and services; involuntary terminations of parental rights; guardianships; protective placements; alcohol, drug, and mental commitments; and other general litigation matters.
Qualified applicants must have graduated from an accredited law school and be admitted to the Wisconsin State Bar. Salary range is $60,821 to $96,546 annually with an excellent benefit package and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System.
